KIA K5 was the most popular car in segment D in January

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, based on AEB statistics, in January 2021, 4.1 thousand new cars of segment D were sold in Russia, which is lower by 20% than a year ago. At the same time, as experts noted, the sales leader has changed here. So, in the first month of the year, it was KIA K5 model, which entered the market in September 2020.

In January, the sales volume was 1463 units. But the former leader, Toyota Camry sedan, fell to the second place, sales of which fell by 32% to 1,338 units. The third position, with a great lag behind the first two, was occupied by Hyundai Sonata (365 units), the sales of which, on the contrary, grew by 87%. Despite the fact that sales of KIA K5 are only five months, in segment D in terms of volumes it is already ahead of Toyota Camry for the second time.

As the experts of the agency found out, it happened in November the last year for the first time, but in December the Japanese model regained its leadership. As it turned out, only for a month ... What the results of February will be, it will become clear very soon. In the meantime, you can compare prices: KIA K5 is offered from 1,649,900 rubles, and Toyota Camry - from 1,826,500 rubles (for cars of 2021, as of February 26th).
