NEFAZ will invest 4 billion rubles in the production of electric buses expanding

Neftekamsk Automobile Plant is modernizing its bus production, as a result of which it has been able to increase the productivity from four to nine buses per a day. It is planned to bring the annual production volume up to three thousand units per a year. The total investment in the project will be 4 billion rubles. This was announced by the general director of NEFAZ Vladimir Kurganov. In 2020, new models of low-floor city buses running on NGV have been developed.

Trolleybus tests will begin in 2021. Another project is the development of the production of heavy-duty dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 30-60 tons, according to the press service of NEFAZ. Today the issue of transferring from Neftekamsk the production of trailers and capacitive equipment to increase the production of NEFAZ buses is being worked out. The preliminary volume of the investment project is about 2 billion rubles. It is planned to organize the production by reloading existing equipment and creating new specialized assembly, welding and painting areas.

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, the Neftekamsk Automobile Plant, which produced 200 electric buses the last year, plans to double the production in 2021. At the same time, the reconstruction of the Sokolniki Railway Car Repair and Construction Plant (SVARZ), which will become an assembly site for electric buses in Moscow, is already being completed. The enterprise with a capacity of 450 electric buses per year plans to start test assembly in March of this year. Recruitment is currently underway.

In addition, the Neftekamsk Automobile Plant is implementing a program providing for the further development of innovative transport. For example, within the framework of this direction, a 9-meter electric bus has already been designed, and an 18-meter one has been assembled and is being tested. In turn, KAMAZ plans to supply passenger transport to Europe in the future - the company expects to pass the necessary certification for this in 2021.
