Executive Director of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergey Udalov at the forum "ForAuto-2021" reminded the participants that the ratio of the new passenger car market to the secondary market in 2020 was 1: 3.8. Among other trends in this market, the expert named the following. Prices for used cars in 2020 continued to grow rapidly.

Recall that, according to the agency "AUTOSTAT", the weighted average price of a used car in 2020 grew by 10%. If you look by segments, then the mass segment showed + 1% on the "secondary", and the premium + 6%, although prices in the market grew faster for expensive cars.

In total, 5.5 million vehicles were resold in the secondary market in Russia just for a year (+ 2% by 2019). More than a half of them were vehicles older than 10 years (55.2%), other 31.2% - vehicles aged from 5 to 10 years. Relatively fresh cars - up to 5 years old occupied only 13.6% of the secondary market. However, this last and smallest category (conditionally target segment) is the most interesting to official dealers, many of which have their own certified programs for work with such vehicles. The leaders of the target segment in terms of dynamics: in the mass segment – Hyundai Creta, LADA Vesta, Volkswagen Polo, and in the premium segment - Lexus RX, Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW 5-Series.
