Mazda Sollers plant produced over 27 thousand cars in 2020

Mazda Sollers plant produced 27,053 Mazda vehicles in 2020, which is lower by 18% than in the previous year. The agency "AUTOSTAT" was informed about it in the press service of the enterprise, noting that this dynamics is due to a decrease in demand caused by the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

The most popular model in the Mazda Sollers conveyor is Mazda CX-5 crossover with 20,431 produced cars (-18%). The assembly of Mazda6 sedans fell by 26% and reached 4477 vehicles. Also, 1,139 seven-seat Mazda CX-9 SUVs rolled off the assembly line of Mazda Sollers, which is lower by 42% than a year ago. In addition, at the end of 2020, Mazda Sollers plant began the production of a new compact crossover Mazda CX-30, and by the end of the year, 1006 cars of this model were produced.

CX-5 crossover is still Mazda's bestseller in the Russian market, sales of which were 20,033 cars (-11%) in the previous year. The second place was occupied by the business sedan Mazda6 with 4,645 sold cars (-12%). The seven-seater Mazda CX-9 crossover at the end of 2020 found 1,329 buyers (-27%).

As AUTOSTAT reported earlier, in January 2021, Russian Mazda dealers started the sales of the new Mazda CX-30 compact crossover. As Mazda predicted, over 90% of sales will be belonged to cars in more expensive editions, and the most demanded will be the mid-range Active. According to Alexey Glazkov, Managing Director of Alarm-Motors Mazda, the novelty can take about 15% within the Mazda brand. Thanks to this car, the brand's sales can grow by 10%.
