Haval patented First Love crossover design in Russia

In the open database of Rospatent, images of a new Haval model called First Love appeared, which, presumably, will soon appear in the Russian market. The company itself has not confirmed this information yet. According to the Motor.ru portal, First Love crossover can be recognized on patent images due to the front and rear optics of a special design.

The same car was noticed a few days earlier on the assembly line of the Haval plant in the Tula region. Combined with images from the Rosstandart database, this may indicate that FirstLove has every chance to appear in Russia in the foreseeable future. But before that happens, Haval will have to obtain the FirstLove Vehicle Type Approval, which gives the right to manufacture and market the model in the country. Haval FirstLove was introduced in China at the end of 2020, the crossover went on sale in the home market in early 2021.

The novelty is built on the Lemon modular platform, which also became the basis for the new H6 and DaGou. The crossover is 4480 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2700 mm. Under the bonnet there is a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that develops 150 hp and 220 Nm of torque. A 7-speed "robot" acts as a transmission. Today, Haval lineup in the Russian market includes the F7 and F7x crossovers and the H5 and H9 frame SUVs, which are manufactured at the company's plant in the Tula region.

As AUTOSTAT reported earlier, in 2020 Russian dealers of Haval sold 17,381 cars, which is higher by 41.5% than in the previous year. As a result, Haval became the leader in terms of sales among Chinese automakers in Russia for the second year in a row, according to the AEB.
