NEFAZ intends to double the production of electric buses in 2021

Neftekamsk Automobile Plant produced 202 electric buses in 2020. In 2021, the production of innovative transport is planned to double, according to the press service of the automaker. Today, 400 KAMAZ electric buses are already running on Moscow lines, and a half of them were delivered during 2020.

As a reminder, in 2019, NEFAZ launched a project to create a new production process for the manufacture of a modern line of buses and electric buses and to provide it with the necessary technological capacities in order to increase the production volume to 3 thousand buses per a year. At the same time, the enterprise is implementing a program providing for the further development of innovative transport. For example, a 9-meter electric bus has already been designed in this direction, and an 18-meter one has been assembled and is being tested. In addition, the reconstruction of the Sokolnichesky Carriage Repair and Construction Plant (SVARZ), which will become an assembly site for electric buses in Moscow, is already underway.

An enterprise with a capacity of 450 electric buses per a year plans to start the test assembly in March this year. KAMAZ-6282 electric bus was developed according to the Mosgortrans technical assignment, taking into account the specifics of the region and is actively used in passenger transportation in Moscow. KAMAZ-6282 electric bus uses the modern components of traction electrical equipment, incl. lithium titanate (LTO) rechargeable batteries. It takes just 24 minutes to fully charge them, while 8 to 12 minutes is enough to recharge. The electric bus is charged from an ultra-fast charging station. It is noteworthy that the electric bus can be charged in the temperature range from +45 to –40 degrees, so the electric bus can carry passengers all year round.

The maximum speed of the electric bus is 75 km / h, the maximum cruising range is 70 km. The model is equipped with other equipment - from satellite navigation to USB connectors for charging mobile devices. The electric bus can accommodate 85 passengers. The low floor level, the presence of a ramp (ramp) and a storage area provide high comfort for all passengers, including those with limited mobility.
