KAMAZ will continue the production of trucks with a K3 cab

KAMAZ continues to expand actively the model range of K5 generation vehicles, while the production of trucks with a classic K3 cab will not be discontinued in the nearest future, since there is still a high demand for them in Russia. This was stated by the General Director of KAMAZ, Sergey Kogogin, not excluding that the company's tasks will be even more ambitious - expanding the premium segment while maintaining its positions in K3.

“Low-cost remains in demand, and while we gnaw off the share of the premium segment from Europeans, the volume of K3 remains stable. We cannot refuse it. The power structures are still working on the old model range, and the price for these vehicles remains a key factor for many industries - especially for utilities and agriculture. Apart from us, there is no one to support the low-cost segment,”- noted Sergei Kogogin, quoted by the press service of KAMAZ. But cars of the K4 generation are likely to be removed from the assembly line in 2024.

Recall that the K4 cab, the production of which started at the press and frame plant of the company in 2013, is equipped with a family of promising vehicles, including the popular KAMAZ-5490 tractor, KAMAZ-6580, KAMAZ-65801 dump trucks, KAMAZ-65207 flatbed truck, etc. As for the new K5 line, KAMAZ has already assembled prototypes of 6x4 and 6x2 tractors, as well as 6x4, 8x4 and 6x6 dump trucks. “The stage of trial assemblies has passed, the process of fine-tuning, testing, certification is ahead - by mid-2021 we will receive a wide model range of K5,” said the head of KAMAZ.
