Mercedes-Benz increased sales of LCV by 6% in Russia in 2020

In 2020, Russian dealers of Mercedes-Benz sold 1,676 light-duty vehicles with a three-pointed star, which is higher by 6% than a year before. As a result, Mercedes-Benz was able to increase the market share of light-duty vehicles in Russia, the press service of the Stuttgart brand reported.

As noted, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter showed the sales growth of 45% in compare with 2019 and became the undisputed leader in the segment of imported large-sized vans. Despite the global pandemic restrictive measures and a challenging supply situation in the middle of the year, Mercedes-Benz has managed to keep its market share in the mid-size van segment, albeit with a decline in sales in compare with 2019.

Recall that in October of 2020, Mercedes-Benz announced the completion of sales in Russia of SprinterClassic commercial vehicles, which were produced at GAZ facilities in Nizhny Novgorod. In the future, Mercedes-BenzVans will focus on its current product portfolio. The portfolio includes the latest generation Sprinter, the V-Class minivan and the Vito. Thanks to cooperation with Russian body producer on the basis of low-tonnage Mercedes-Benz there are produced minibuses, ambulances, cars with refrigeration units, armored vehicles and other modifications on the local market.
