Used motorcycle market grew by 18% in November

The secondary motorcycle market in our country continues to show the positive dynamics, as does the market of new motorcycles. But if the last of them grew in November by 48% (as the specialists of the agency "AUTOSTAT" reported earlier, the market of used motorcycles showed a slightly lower growth - only by 18%.

According to the agency, its volume for the previous autumn month was 3, 2 thousand units. The Russians gave the greatest preference to used motorcycles from Japan in November: four Japanese brands (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki) and one German (BMW) entered the TOP-5 of the most popular brands. About 60% of the secondary motorcycle market belonged to this TOP-5. At the same time, it should be noted that in fact every fifth resold motorcycle belonged to the Honda brand (about 22% of the total volume).

If we consider the regional structure of this market, then about a quarter of it belonged to Moscow and the region. So, the residents of the Russian capital in November became owners of 459 used motorcycles, and the Moscow region - 317. In the Krasnodar Territory, 265 units of such units were purchased, in St. Petersburg - 193, in Rostov region - 101. In each of the remaining subjects of the Russian Federation, less than a hundred units of used motor vehicles were purchased.

Despite the November growth, according to the results of 11 months of 2020, the dynamics of the secondary motorcycle market remains negative. During this period, the Russians re-registered about 85 thousand motorcycles, which is lower by 2% than in January-November of 2019.
