    Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the passenger car market in Russia. It covered both new cars, and used ones, and in all federal districts of the country. According to the survey, for the year (from November of 2017 to October of 2018), 48 cars were sold per one thousand Russians, incl. 11 new cars and 37 used ones.

Hyundai summed up the results of sales in Russia for 2020

By the end of 2020, Hyundai Motor CIS plans to sell about 163 thousand Hyundai vehicles in Russia, which is lower by 9% than the previous year. This was announced by the managing director of Hyundai Motor CIS Alexey Kalitsev, by adding that, according to the company's forecast, the Russian car market this year will show a similar fall - by 9-10% to 1.55-1.56 million new cars. As a result, the market share of Hyundai brand remains at the target level of 10.3%.

Recall that in the first quarter of 2020, an updated Hyundai Solaris sedan and Hyundai Creta crossover appeared in the Russian market, and sales of a sports version of Hyundai Tucson N Line crossover started in April. The main novelty from Hyundai in 2020 is the new full-size crossover Palisade, which is available for order from the end of November and is already arriving at dealerships. In addition, the seventh generation Hyundai Elantra sedan appeared in our country in December.

As for the new Hyundai models that will appear in the Russian market in 2021, the updated SantaFe crossover will go on sale in February of the next year, the fourth generation Tucson in April, the second generation Hyundai Creta in June, and the Staria minivan is expected to arrive in September, which will replace the previous generation model H-1. According to Mr. Kalitsev, Hyundai Motor CIS plans to sell 170-180 thousand Hyundai cars in 2021 and keep a market share of 10%. According to the company's forecasts, the Russian car market will grow by 5-10% the next year and will be 1.7-1.8 million new cars.
