What cars arrived to Russia from other countries?

In our country, there are about 17 million passenger cars produced abroad (as of July 1st, 2020). According to the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT", this is about 38% of the total volume of the Russian vehicle fleet. Over a half of imported cars came to us from Japan (7 million units) and Germany (3.6 million units). Other 1.1 million cars were produced in South Korea and Great Britain, and now they are owned by Russians. The number of cars assembled in other countries does not reach 1 million units.

Almost every fifth imported passenger car in Russia is Toyota. Thus, by the middle of this year, 3.6 million Toyota cars of foreign assembly were registered. There are 1.6 million of the same cars, but with the Nissan emblem, and Mitsubishi cars - 1 million. Volkswagen stands out from the "Germans" - 828 thousand cars of this brand were produced outside the Russian Federation. The most widespread imported model in our country is Toyota Corolla, the figure of which was 714 thousand units. The second place is occupied by Daewoo Nexia with 421 thousand units, and Volkswagen Passat finished the top-3 (343 thousand units).
