Hyundai will bring Ioniq electric cars to Russia in 2021

The sub-brand Ioniq, owned by the Hyundai auto concern, will appear in the Russian market in 2021, said Alexey Kalitsev, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor CIS. The model, which will be the first on sale, was not specified. It is known that the Ioniq lineup will include three models, which are designated by serial numbers "5", "6" and "7". The “five” will be the serial embodiment of the 45 EV concept cars, the “six” will be the electric coupe-like Propechy sedan, and the “seven” will be a still unknown full-size SUV. All of them will be built on the E-GMP platform.

The first to appear on the market is the Ioniq 5 - deliveries of the model to Europe are planned for early 2021, so we can assume that this particular model will arrive in Russia. According to preliminary data, the electric cross-coupe will receive cameras instead of exterior mirrors (most likely as an option) and will be larger than Hyundai SantaFe. So far, it is known about two modifications of the "five": in the first case, it is equipped with a 58 kilowatt-hour battery, and in the second - 73 kilowatt-hours. The power reserve will be 354 and 450 km, respectively. Thus, the top-end Ioniq 5 will surpass the Hyundai Kona EV in cruising range (about 400 km). The batteries can be recharged up to 80% in 15 minutes. In the meantime, a hatchback is being produced under the name Ioniq, which is equipped with both a hybrid and an all-electric power plant. Last year, the model underwent a planned update in the middle of its life cycle: it changed externally and became more technologically advanced.
