The car market of Ukraine grew by 11% in September


According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in September of 2020 the volume of new passenger car market in Ukraine was 8.1 thousand units, which is higher by 11% than the result of a year ago.

Leadership among brands in this market belongs to the Japanese Toyota, which reached 1.4 thousand units in the previous month, which is higher by 32% than in September of 2019. The second line of the rating is occupied by French Renault, the result of which fell by 17% to 1.1 thousand units. According to the agency's experts, these two brands were 30% of the entire local market. The third place is occupied by the German Volkswagen with the result of 735 purchased cars, which is 2 times higher than a year ago. KIA (475 units; -24%) and Nissan (465 units; + 31%) finished the top-five of the most popular brands in Ukraine according to the results of September.

The most popular model of the Ukrainian car market was Toyota RAV4 crossover in the previous month, the volume of purchases of which grew 2.2 times to 545 units. The second place is occupied by KIA Sportage with the result of 400 units (-26%). Renault Duster (365 units; + 12%) – took the third place. This is followed by Renault Logan (330 units; -4%) and Volkswagen Touareg (290 units; an increase of 3.7 times). In total, since the beginning of the year, Ukrainians have purchased about 62 thousand new passenger cars, which is lower by 3% than in January-September of 2019.
