"Rosseti" in 30 largest cities of Russia will install 1000 charging stations for electric transport

Exactly a year ago, announcing its 30/30 program designed to develop charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, the representatives of the Rosseti holding talked about the fact that by 2024 in 30 large cities of Russia and on more than 30 highways a network of "More than 770" electric filling stations would be created. It was about the fact that at the first stage the program will cover the large cities with a population of more than 1 million people and connect them with transport corridors, at the second stage - cities with a population of 500 thousand to 1 million inhabitants.

A year has passed, and today we are talking about the construction of 1000 such electric filling stations. RIA Novosti reported about the change in the company's plans towards their increase, citing an online interview with the head of Rosseti, Pavel Livinsky. Considering that at the moment only 250 electric charging stations have been installed on the territory of our country then these plans can at least be called "Napoleonic". “Yes, on the scale of, perhaps, Europe or California, these are small numbers, but for our country this is a good impetus for the development of electric transport. The task by 2024 is to equip 30 largest cities of our country and 30 highways - routes that go to recreation sites and are the most active in terms of transport use with electric charging stations, ” – Mr.Livinsky commented on the state of affairs.

Recall that, according to AUTOSTAT, as of July 1st, 2020, there were 7,925 electric cars in Russia. Moreover, more than 50% of them (in total) are registered in the Far Eastern and Siberian federal districts. Least of all electric vehicles are in the North Caucasus (143) and in the Northwestern Federal District (319).
