05 julymore infoIn February of 2019, sales of new cars in Russia fell by 3.6% in compare with February of 2018. The mass segment for the second month in a row shows a negative trend (-4.8%). Its sales amounted to 112,135 vehicles, which is 90.6% of the total sales.
The government nominally increases state support for demand for cars in 2021 - 14.9 billion rubles have been budgeted for it against 12.5 billion this year. However, in fact, during 2020, thanks to additional government decisions, 33 billion rubles were allocated for preferential car loans and leasing. Leasing companies hope the authorities will act similarly in 2021. Otherwise, the allocated money will not be enough for six months of programs, writes the newspaper "Kommersant".
As the executive director of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergey Udalov notes, the demand support programs are traditionally focused on the budget segment, which is the most susceptible to the negative impact of the crisis. At the same time, it is difficult to predict the market situation at the beginning of the next year. The weakening of the ruble has not been fully taken into account in car prices yet: as prices rise, the consumers will try to have time to buy a car, which will support the demand for some time, the expert believes.
It should be reminded that at present the Ministry of Industry and Trade supports the demand for Russian-made cars with the programs of preferential car loans "First Car" and "Family Car". There are also concessional leasing programs “Russian Tractor” and “Own Business” and a new program “Affordable Rent”, which, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, stimulates the development of car sharing services.
