Drive Electro (a developer of batteries for Moscow electric buses) handed over the first Russian electric truck Moskva for test operation of the “Magnit” network. Based on a KAMAZ chassis and equipped with a 229 kW (312 hp) electric motor, this truck is environmentally friendly: it can reduce the carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by 87 tons per a year. In addition, the developers, presenting their brainchild on the official Facebook page, claim that the cost of owning such a car for 10 years will be lower by 20-25% than the traditional one (due to the use of an alternative type of energy and low wear of the main components of the vehicle).
In terms of technical characteristics, the electric truck is comparable to the world's leading counterparts: its maximum speed is 110 km / h, the cruising range per charge is 200 km, and the carrying capacity is 9 tons (similar to the carrying capacity of diesel versions). Charging an electric truck is possible in two modes: fast option - 20 minutes, longer (night option) - 8 hours. The power source can be an ordinary industrial network with a voltage of 380 volts.
Taking into account the wishes of the customer, the vehicle was equipped with an isothermal van and a refrigeration unit to preserve the maximum freshness of products and a tail lift with a lifting capacity of 1500 kg. The Moskva electric truck was handed over with a charging station. At the moment, it is known that the vehicle will carry food from the Magnit distribution center in Dmitrov to the company's stores in Moscow. In case of successful testing, which will last 6 - 12 months, DriveElectro plans to produce and supply other 200 units of similar vehicles to this retail network.
