Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" have calculated that for 8 months of 2020, about 61 thousand new light commercial vehicles (LCV) were purchased in our country, which is lower by 12% than in the same period of last year.
Almost 45% of this market belonged to the domestic brand GAZ. So, from January to August, the products of the Gorky Automobile Plant were sold in amount of 27 thousand units, by showing a drop of 14%. Next, with a huge lag behind the leader, is another Russian brand - UAZ, the light commercial vehicles of which were sold in the amount of 8.7 thousand units (-22%). The third place and leadership among foreign brands is kept by American Ford with 7.9 thousand vehicles, which is higher by 2% than a year ago.
The TOP-10 of brands in the new LCV market in Russia by the results of 8 months of this year also included: LADA (6.8 thousand units; -3%), Volkswagen (2.5 thousand units; -30%), Peugeot (1.9 thousand units; -3%), Mercedes-Benz (1.7 thousand units; -21%), Hyundai (1.6 thousand units; -2%), Citroen (1 , 3 thousand units; + 4%) and Fiat (0.7 thousand units; + 13%).
