Lexus has sold its 5 millionth premium SUV. Recall that the prestigious LX became the first SUV of the brand in 1996, and two years later the premium crossover RX appeared in the market - the most popular Lexus car today, the press service of the Japanese brand reports. Then the SUV line from Lexus was supplemented by the GX, NX and UX models. Today, SUVs and crossovers have two-thirds of the brand's total sales in 90 countries. As noted, Lexus crossovers, namely the RX and its extended version RXL, as well as NX and UX, are very popular in both hybrid and gasoline versions around the world.

Crossover RX is the most popular model of the brand in the world: since 1998 it has sold 3 million 136 thousand cars. It is followed by the NX crossover, first introduced in 2014 and sold worldwide in amount of 853 thousand units. The third most popular Lexus crossover and SUV is the full-size, prestigious LX SUV, with more than 487,000 sold vehicles since its introduction in 1996.

Lexus started its operations in Russia in 2002, and since that moment it was sold 206 thousand crossovers and SUVs. The most popular in the Russian market was the premium crossover RX - since 2002, when it first appeared there, 105.1 thousand units have been sold. The full-size LX SUV has found 48.1 thousand buyers since its premiere in Russia in 2002. In 2014, the NX crossover appeared in our country, and since then 3941 units of this model have been sold.
