Russian automotive market moved up to fourth place in Europe in July

The Russian automotive market, which grew in July, moved up to the fourth place in the European rating. According to the information received by AUTOSTAT agency in the national associations of European automakers, Germany, where 314,938 vehicles were sold (-5.4%), became the market leader in July. According to the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), this is the least drop in sales since the beginning of the year. At the same time, orders for new vehicles increased by 7%last month, which indicates the pent-up demand that formed during the period of quarantine restrictions. The second place was taken by France with 178,982 vehicles sold (+ 3.9%). Great Britain is on the third place among European automotive markets – 174,887 vehicles sold (+ 11.3%). If we take Russia into account, our country moved up to the fourth place in the European ranking. According to preliminary estimates of AUTOSTAT agency, passenger car sales came up to 164.5 thousand vehicles (excluding LCV) last month. Italy, with 136,455 vehicles (-11%), is on the fifth place of the European ranking this time.
