New pickup market in Russia decreased by 5%

755 new pickups were sold in our country in July. That is 5.4% less than a year ago. According to the experts of AUTOSTAT analytic agency, the decrease in this segment occurred in the situation of the general growth in the new passenger car market (+ 8.5%). As for seven months of the year, there was also negative dynamics.  4.9 thousand new pickups were sold in Russia in January-July 2020, that is 6.5% less compared to the same period last year.

The UAZ Pickup is the leader here with 1.4 thousand vehicles sold in January-July (-20.8%). The second place is taken by the Mitsubishi L200 (1.3 thousand vehicles; + 21.3%), the Toyota Hilux is on the third place (1.2 thousand units; - 22.9%). We should mention that these three models generate about 80% of sales in this segment.
