Dynamics of the Russian car market for 9 months of 2020


The new vehicle market continues to grow in 7 regions of Russia


Experts of AUTOSTAT analytic agency have already reported that during 7 months of 2020 the market of new passenger cars in Russia decreased by 12.8% compared to January-July last year. The market decline was registered in most regions. However, in 7 regions of the Russian Federation, the market continues to grow.

During the period under review, the highest market growth was registered in Jewish Autonomous Region (+ 43.1%). In Magadan region (+ 29.1%), Buryatia (+ 19.4%) and Sakhalin (+ 10.3%), it has even double-digit indicators. Positive market dynamics was also registered in Amur Region (+ 4.6%), the Altai Republic (+ 2.3%), and Trans-Baikal Territory (+ 0.4%).

According to the experts, in January-July, the market stabilized in Nenets Autonomous District: the dynamics is zero. In other regions of the country, the market reduced. The smallest decline was registered in Orenburg region (-0.8%), the largest decrease was in Tyva (-35.6%). In 28 regions of Russia, the market decline was higher than in the country as a whole (- 12.8). This list includes Moscow (-22.2%) and Moscow region (-18%), which are the largest regional markets.
