    According to the assessment of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, KIA Rio remains the most popular new passenger car with automatic transmission in Russia. For 6 months of 2019, 34.6 thousand units with automatic transmission were sold - 5.7% higher than in January – June’18.



Passenger car export reduced by 44% in the first half year


According to the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia, during 6 months of 2020, passenger car export from Russia decreased by 44% to 30.6 thousand vehicles for $461 million. At the same time, 5.7 thousand vehicles for $105.5 million were shipped to foreign markets in June (+ 90.4% as compared to May). In January-June, truck export reduced by 12.2% to 5.7 thousand vehicles for $147.8 million. In June, 1.8 thousand trucks for $29.8 million were exported (+ 145.2% as compared to May).

As AUTOSTAT has already reported, in the first half of 2020, Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg exported 8,200 vehicles to neighboring countries, which is 17% more than a year ago. In addition, in the first half of 2020, Nissan supplied 1,291 vehicles of Russian production (-27%) to foreign markets, including 876 vehicles to Kazakhstan (-9%) and 415 vehicles to Belarus (-54%). Export of KAMAZ trucks increased by 37% up to 1,890 vehicles and assembly sets during the period under review.
