KIA unveiled the updated Rio sedan for the Russian market

KIA posted the first official images of the updated Rio sedan. Its design was developed by Oleg Son, KIA Design China design vice-president, in close collaboration with the regional headquarters of KIA Motors in Russia, the press service of the brand reports.

The front and the rear bumpers of the updated Rio became more defined. By changing their shape, the overall length of the vehicle increased by 20 mm compared to the old version. The radiator grille in the KIA Tiger Smile style has been redesigned and visually integrated with the headlight assembly, which has also changed. Their body got built-in contour LED navigation lights. The lower air intake is wider, with triangular trim elements flanked by integrated fog lamps. In profile, the KIA Rio is still the absolutely recognizable classic sedan, but more dynamic. A striking and functional element of the exterior is a shark fin antenna painted black regardless of the body color. 

Depending on the package, the Rio will be equipped with different design 15” or 16” wheel disks. Taking into account the Russian service conditions, the sedan has a large ground clearance - 160 mm. The vertical reflectors in the rear bumper chime with the front trim elements. The updated Rio has also got LED taillights with special matrix graphics. We should remind that the current generation KIA Rio sedan has been represented in the Russian market since August 2017. The model is manufactured at the plant in St. Petersburg.
