Sales of new Chinese cars grew by 62% in July

In July of 2020, almost 5.3 thousand new cars of Chinese brands were sold in Russia. As experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" noted with the reference to the data of the AEB, this is higher by 61.8% than in the same period of the previous year. Note that all five leaders of the Chinese segment are showing the growth, which is expressed by some in double-digit, and in others by three-digit numbers.

Thus, the leader of this segment in the Russian market - Haval - sold 1.8 thousand vehicles in July, by exceeding the result of a year ago by 55%. Geely is the second one - 1.3 thousand Russians bought new cars of this brand per a month, which is higher by 69% than in July of 2019. The sales of Chery, which ranks the third in terms of sales, doubled (+ 100%); the brand recorded 864 units. The top-five of leaders also included Changan and FAW with the results of 653 and 386 cars, respectively. At the same time, Changan's sales grew by almost 4 times, while FAW's sales grew 3.5 times. Lifan also managed to cross the threshold of 100 cars (it is the sixth one in this rating with a score of 104 cars), but it shows negative dynamics (-68%).

The results of the rest Chinese brands look rather modest against the background of the top-5. Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" also noted that by the results of 7 months of this year, sales of new cars of Chinese brands are showing the growth. So, in January-July, their sales grew by 22.4% to 23.6 thousand units.
