In July, the new LCV market in Russia showed a slight drop

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, the market volume of new light commercial vehicles at the end of July 2020 reached 9.9 thousand units. This is practically at the level of a year ago (-0.4%).

The championship among new LCVs still belongs to the domestic brand GAZ. Its share was more than 43% of the total in the previous month, or 4.3 thousand sold units – lower by 1.1% than in July of 2019. The second place (and the first among foreign cars) is occupied by the American brand Ford with the result of 1.4 thousand units (+ 19.4%). Domestic brand LADA finished the top-3 (1.3 thousand units), which also showed the positive dynamics in July (+ 17.1%).

The five leading brands also included Russian UAZ (1.2 thousand units; -15.6%) and French Peugeot (353 units; + 19.3%). Note that, by the results of seven months of 2020, the volume of the Russian market of new LCVs reached 52.5 thousand units, which is lower by 11.4% than in January-July of the previous year.
