Sales of LADA cars with automatic transmission are growing in Russia

The experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" have already reported that by the results of the first half of the year, 368 thousand new passenger cars with automatic transmission * (AT) were sold in Russia. This is lower by 19% than for 6 months of 2019. Meanwhile, in the top-10 of brands-leaders by sales of such cars, only domestic LADA shows the growth.

So, from January to June, about 13 thousand LADA vehicles with AT were sold – higher by 15% than in the same period of the previous year. However, despite the positive dynamics, the domestic brand takes the last place in the TOP-10. The first nine positions belong to foreign cars, which showed a decrease in sales of vehicles with AT. At the head of this rating there is Korean KIA with 70.7 thousand sold cars with AT – lower by 24% than in the first half of 2019. Another Korean brand - Hyundai (52 thousand units; -23%) – is the second one. Japanese Toyota finished the top-3 (39 thousand units; -10%). This is followed by Volkswagen (29 thousand units; -23%) and Skoda (25.7 thousand units; -3%).

Also, when choosing passenger cars with AT, Russians give preference to the following brands: Nissan (20.2 thousand units; -15%), BMW (17 thousand units; -14%), Renault (16.6 thousand units; -9%), Mercedes-Benz (15.5 thousand units; -14%).
