Kazakhstan auto industry grew by 56% in the first half of the year


According to the results of the first half of 2020, 32,059 vehicles (including cars, trucks, buses, special vehicles and trailers) were produced in Kazakhstan, which is higher by 55.6% in compare with the same period of the previous year. According to the KazAvtoProm Union of Automotive Industry Enterprises of Kazakhstan, since the beginning of the year the production of passenger cars has grown by 48.6% to 27,867 units. The production of buses reached 713 vehicles (+ 5.8%). The production of trucks grew 3.5 times, by reaching 2,974 units. In June, 4902 vehicles rolled off the conveyors of Kazakhstan enterprises, which is higher by 32% than a year ago. As noted, for the last two months, the domestic manufacturers retain a record market share: when choosing a new car, 75% of buyers choose Kazavtoprom products.

According to the results of the first half of the year, 25,259 vehicles of Kazakhstan production (+ 39.1%) were sold; as a result their market share grew by 69.8% against 56.4% a year before. The five most popular brands of passenger cars assembled in Kazakhstan in the first half of the year included LADA (7922 units), Hyundai (6792 units), Ravon (3395 units), KIA (3080 units) and Chevrolet (596 units). The list of brands offered by domestic enterprises also includes JAC (332 units), UAZ (242 units) and Skoda (202 units). LADA Granta (3543 units), Ravon Nexia R3 (3395 units), Hyundai Tucson (2215 units), LADA Vesta (1834 units) and KIA Rio (1795 units) topped the rating of sales of locally produced passenger cars. Hyundai Creta (1425 units), LADA 4x4 (1292 units), Hyundai Accent (1196 units), Hyundai Elantra (1062 units) and LADA Largus (1027 units) also added to the list of models popular among Kazakhstan citizens.
