Toyota Motor signed a memorandum with dealers on compliance with safety measures at car dealerships

Toyota Motor was the first company in Russia to sign a Memorandum with representatives of its own dealer network Toyota and Lexus, confirming the commitment of the parties to comply with a complex safety measure developed on the basis of recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor and local regulations. The document confirms the seriousness of Toyota Motor partners' intentions to ensure the safety of employees, partners and customers of dealerships during the process of purchasing and servicing Toyota and Lexus cars during the epidemiological threat associated with the spread of new coronavirus infection COVID-19, the press service of the Japanese brand reported.

For this, at the beginning of 2020, the company developed a set of recommendations based on the instructions of Rospotrebnadzor. It includes zoning and installation of special screens, personal protective equipment for employees and customers, as well as the treatment of all used surfaces of dealerships (including employee workplaces and stationery) and points of contact in cars with special disinfectants. It is recommended to use disposable seat covers, steering wheel and transmission lever on all vehicles on display. All employees of dealerships are required to undergo regular health checks, including daily temperature measurements. By putting their signatures to the Memorandum, the parties committed themselves to do everything necessary to fully and strictly observe the precautions until the moment when their application is no longer relevant.

The Memorandum was signed by all representatives of the dealer network (110 Toyota dealers and 58 Lexus dealers) who have valid agreements with Toyota Motor in the Russian Federation. Currently, 100% of Toyota and Lexus showrooms are open to the public. The number of dealership visitors is gradually increasing and in June approached the figures of January of 2020. At the same time, the share of face-to-face visits also increased: if in April 85.7% of new customers chose a call to the showroom, then in June the ratio of calls and visits to dealerships almost returned to 65% / 35%, typical for the pre-pandemic period.
