Residents of which constituent entities of the Russian Federation buy crossovers and SUVs: TOP-10

Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" calculated that for 5 months of 2020, Russians bought 238 thousand new crossovers and SUVs. Meanwhile, over a half (52.3%) of all bought cars belonged to only 10 regions. Moscow is the leader, the residents of which from January to May became the owners of almost 39 thousand new SUVs. Then in our ranking there are Moscow region and St. Petersburg (19.5 thousand and 16.4 thousand units, respectively). The best among non-capital entities of the Russian Federation is Tatarstan - for the reporting period, 8.8 thousand new crossovers and SUVs were bought in the republic. Krasnodar Territory finished the top-5 with about 8 thousand units. In addition to the mentioned above, the TOP-10 of Russian regions, the residents of which more often buy SUVs, included the following: Sverdlovsk region (7.5 thousand units), Bashkortostan (7.5 thousand units), Samara region (6.5 thousand units), Chelyabinsk region (6 thousand units), and Nizhny Novgorod (5.7 thousand units) region.
