Isuzu Rus plant in Ulyanovsk has produced the 35,000th Isuzu chassis since the production began in July of 2006. Isuzu Forward 12.0 AirSuspension model became the anniversary car, which will be transferred to the Slavyanka group of companies, the press service of the Japanese brand informed.

As the General Director of Isuzu Rus, Fabrice Gorlier, noted, the company has come a long way from a small assembly shop to one of the leading production sites, arranging the release of all models presented in the Russian market, including promising new ones - gas-fueled, four-wheel drive and equipped with an automatic transmission.

Isuzu Rus plant is located on the territory of Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant and is capable of producing the entire range of Isuzu freight chassis - small-tonnage (N-series), medium-tonnage (F-series) and heavy (GIGA series). The design capacity of the plant is 5000 units per a year.

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in May of 2018, Isuzu Rus entered into a special investment contract with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ulyanovsk Region for the implementation of a technology partnership project in Russia. The partnership presumes the creation of a new joint product in the medium-tonnage truck segment and export through the Isuzu distribution network worldwide. The total investment in the project will be over 6 billion rubles, including 1.3 billion in R&D. Production within the framework of the joint venture is planned to be launched in 2021 at the new facilities created in Ulyanovsk.
