How did the most popular SUV models in Russia rise in price?


In May, the Ukrainian car market showed a 14% fall


According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in May of 2020, the market of new passenger cars in Ukraine reached 6.1 thousand units, which is lower by 14% than a year ago. At the same time, the fall of the Ukrainian car market continues the third month in a row.

In the brand structure of this market, the leadership passed to the Toyota brand (in April, Renault brand led the French rating). The result of Japanese brand was 1,020 units in May, which is lower by 17% than in May of 2019. French Renault is the second one with 830 units (-21%). The third one was the Korean brand KIA (700 units; + 58%). In May, the top-five of the most popular brands in Ukraine also included Skoda (290 units; -6%) and the premium brand Mercedes-Benz (280 units; + 77%).

The most popular model of the Ukrainian car market was KIA Sportage crossover in the previous month. Its sales volume reached 610 units (+ 91%). Then Toyota RAV4 followed (530 units; -4%). In addition to them, Renault Duster (310 units; -17%), Toyota Land Cruiser (210 units; + 8%) and Renault Logan (180 units; -40%) were in the TOP-5. In general, since the beginning of the year, Ukrainians have purchased 30.5 thousand new cars, which are lower by 6% than in January - May of 2019.
