Exports of cars fell by 35% in January - April

The export of cars from Russia for four months of 2020 fell by 35.2% and reached 21.7 thousand units worth $ 297 million, according to the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia. At the same time, in April 4.5 thousand cars were sent to foreign markets (-36.4% to March) worth $ 50.8 million.

Exports of trucks in January - April fell by 30.2% and reached 3.1 thousand vehicles worth 92.6 million dollars. In April, about 900 trucks were delivered abroad (-12.5% in compare with March) worth $ 22.8 million.

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, Toyota Motor Plant in St. Petersburg began the supply of Toyota Camry and RAV4 vehicles to Armenia in May. The new direction became the third export market for the company after Belarus and Kazakhstan, where Russian-made Toyota cars are delivered. The starting export plan to Armenia is about 450 Toyota Camry and RAV4 cars by the end of 2020 and implies an increase of volumes in the future.
