The market of used cars is still growing in five constituent entities of the Russian Federation

Experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT have already reported that the market of used cars fell by a half in April. Meanwhile, it was fixed that the market decline affected absolutely all regions of the country. If we consider the situation in the secondary market for 4 months, then it looks a little different.

So, in January - April of 2020, the market of used cars fell by 10%, but at the same time, the growth is still in five constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Moreover, these are the regions of Siberia and the Far East: Sakhalin Region (+ 7.4%), Altai Republic (+ 5.3%), Tomsk Region (+ 4%), Khakassia (+ 2.5%) and Amur Region (+1,2%).

In all other Russian regions, the secondary market is “in the red”, and 33 of them even recorded a double-digit drop. According to the results of 4 months of the current year, resale of cars was the strongest in Adygea (-27%). And in the Krasnodar Territory, Ingushetia, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Karelia, the market also “sank” by more than 20%.
