    In February of 2019, sales of new cars in Russia fell by 3.6% in compare with February of 2018. The mass segment for the second month in a row shows a negative trend (-4.8%). Its sales amounted to 112,135 vehicles, which is 90.6% of the total sales.



Nissan reduced sales by 59% in Russia in April


Russian Nissan dealers sold 1,039 cars in April – lower by 59% than a year before. According to the results of four months of 2020, 19,264 Nissan cars were sold in Russia, which is lower by 12% than the figure for the same period of the previous year. As a result, Nissan ranked the eighth in sales among all automakers in Russia, and the brand’s market share was 4.6% in compare with 4.3% a year before, according to AEB.

Nissan's best-seller in the Russian market was Nissan Qashqai crossover in April; its sales fell by 76% to 368 units. The second place was taken by the Nissan X-Trail with 358 sold cars, which is lower by 76% than a year ago. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, Nissan announced its intention to restructure its business in Russia and update completely its model line in the next four years. The focus will be on updating models in the B-SUV, C-SUV and D-SUV segments. New models will be introduced to the market, as well as updated versions of Qashqai, X-Trail and Murano crossovers already presented in the Russian line of Nissan.

In addition, for the first time Nissan will present its new product in the electric car segment in the Russian market. Earlier, the company did not exclude the possibility of a serial crossover launching based on the Ariya concept car in the Russian market.
