Nissan announced its intention to restructure its business in Russia and to update its model line completely in the next four years.

As a part of a new strategy aimed at further developing and strengthening the Nissan brand, it was decided to complete the production of cars under the Datsun brand at AvtoVAZ's facilities in Tolyatti in December 2020, Nissan press service informed. As noted, this decision does not affect other markets in which the brand is represented, and also does not affect the work of Infiniti in Russia. The company will continue to provide after-sales services and spare parts sales for more than 130,000 Datsun owners through a network of authorized Nissan dealerships. The warranty policy will remain unchanged.

Recall that the Datsun brand appeared in the Russian market in September 2014. The first model of the brand was Datsunon-DO sedan, and in March 2015, Datsun mi-DO hatchback joined it. Cars are equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine rated at 87 or 106 hp, which is combined with both a manual gearbox and an automatic transmission. The undisputed bestseller of Datsun is on-DO sedan, the share of which reaches 80% of the total sales of the brand.

At the same time, the basis of the company's business strengthening in Russia will be the updated lineup of Nissan. The focus will be on models updating in the B-SUV, C-SUV and D-SUV segments. New models will be introduced to the market, as well as updated versions of Qashqai, X-Trail and Murano crossovers and SUVs already presented in the Russian line of Nissan.
