Volkswagen reduced the sales by 68% in Russia in April

Russian Volkswagen dealers sold 3,093 cars in April – lower by 68% than a year before. According to the results of four months of 2020, Volkswagen sales fell by 15% in Russia and reached 26,887 cars. As a result, Volkswagen ranked the sixth in sales among all automakers in Russia, and the brand’s market share was 6.5% versus 6.2% a year before, according to AEB.

The best-selling Volkswagen in the Russian market remains Polo sedan - in April, 1,372 customers (-76%) chose this model. Tiguan crossover is the second one in the Volkswagen model line with 1332 sold cars, which is lower by 53% than a year ago. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, Russian Volkswagen dealers have begun the accepting of orders for a new generation of the Polo bestseller, which is now presented in the liftback body.

The novelty is offered in four trim levels: Origin (from 792.9 thousand rubles), Respect (from 837.9 thousand rubles), Status (from 971.9 thousand rubles) and Exclusive (from 1 million 111 thousand 900 rubles).
