What happens to the import of cars to Russia?

AvtoVAZ spoke about the conducting of its own crash tests

AvtoVAZ informed about the work on checking the passive safety of produced cars. The company has its own testing ground for crash tests - there are only two such sites in our country, the second is in the Moscow region. The project manager of passive safety, Alexander Sunenkov, said that the features of the training ground allow the crash tests to be carried out year-round. Crash tests are carried out both with the produced cars and with prototypes that are at the development stage.

Moreover, cars that are ready for shipment and sale pass a test of strength and safety: this is necessary to assess the quality of welded joints, fastening components and assemblies, and the operation of security systems. Recall that AvtoVAZ conducts a significant part of crash tests in a virtual environment, their results in almost 100% of cases coincide with physical tests. Digital collision simulation is necessary to speed up the process of assessing vehicle safety, making adjustments to the design and saving money.

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, AvtoVAZ continues to modernize the production technologies and processes. In 2019, a large amount of work was carried out, the result of which was the strengthening of quality control, process optimization and cost savings, improvement of working conditions for workers. Improving of production efficiency is carried out within the framework of the Renault-Nissan Alliance's methods - AVTOVAZ is a full-fledged participant of the international production complex, which not only produces cars that meet the most modern standards, but also supplies auto components for the production of Alliance cars in Russia and abroad.

In addition, at the beginning of 2020, AvtoVAZ introduced a new, more modern and effective method of quality control of finished cars. Instead of the street track, which has been used since 1973 to check every produced car, a new test track has been opened, located inside the main building. This minimizes the impact of weather conditions on the quality of the vehicle inspection. Through the procedure of intermediate and final tests, as before, 100% of produced cars at AvtoVAZ pass – they are LADA, Renault and Datsun models. The new quality control methodology meets completely the standards of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
