According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in April of this year, Russians bought more than 27 thousand new crossovers and SUVs. This is lower by 58% than in the same period of 2019.

The bestseller in the SUV segment in the Russian market remains the compact Hyundai Creta crossover. So, in April, 2484 residents of our country became its owners, which is lower by 62% than a year ago. Renault Duster is the second one with 1407 cars and the same market drop (-62%). Volkswagen Tiguan kept the third place, which was chosen by 1329 customers (-56%). The domestic LADA 4x4 SUV is the next, with 1209 sold units, which is twice less than in April of 2019. This time Toyota RAV4 crossover, which was purchased by 1,137 people (-51%), finished the top-five of the most popular SUVs in Russia.

The indicators of the remaining models of this segment were less than a thousand purchased units, and in the TOP-10 by the results of April there were: Mazda CX-5 (912 units; -44%), KIA Sportage (829 units; -68%), Chevrolet Niva (816 units; -62%), Renault Kaptur (770 units; -69%) and Nissan Qashqai (768 units; -61%). According to the experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, the share of crossovers and SUVs was almost a half (49.7%) of all new cars purchased in April.
