Since August of 2020, KAMAZ has been ready to produce Euro-6 trucks of an ecological level, despite the fact that environmental standards corresponding to the Euro-5 level are currently in force in Russia. This was stated by the General Director of KAMAZ, Sergey Kogogin, by noting that already today the company supplies such equipment of Russian production to European countries. Also, as a part of a joint venture with Daimler, KAMAZ intends to complete certification in August and begin the production of Euro-6 trucks that fully comply with the requirements of products identifying manufactured in the Russian Federation. In addition, according to a special investment contract concluded by the company, KAMAZ has developed a modern P6 engine, which is installed on the new model range of KAMAZ vehicles.

The SPIC also provides the investments in bringing this engine to Euro-6 level. As previously reported, in the first quarter of 2020, KAMAZ continued the implementation of a major investment project, “Development of the KAMAZ model range of vehicles and the modernization of capacities for its production”. The main attention was paid to the preparing for the launch of a new generation of K5 vehicles and its flagship - the KAMAZ-54901 main tractor, the next in line was a heavy dump truck for the construction sector. The efforts of the company's engineers are aimed at mastering new versions of KAMAZ unmanned automotive vehicles, developing a lineup of vehicles using liquefied natural gas, and others.

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in the first quarter of 2020, 5,854 KAMAZ trucks were registered in Russia - this is lower by 14.1% in compare with the same period of the previous year. During the reporting period, KAMAZ increased the export deliveries by 102% in compare with the figures for the first quarter of the previous year. This dynamics is due, first of all, to the additional sales volume relatively to planned indicators in the markets of Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan and Turkey.
