Ukrainian car market fell by 12% in March

According to the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", in March of 2020, the market of new passenger cars in Ukraine reached 6.4 thousand units. This is lower by 12% than a year ago. Agency experts noted that the fall of the Ukrainian car market occurred for the first time in the last 14 months: since February 2019, sales of cars only grew.

The leadership among the brands in this market belongs to the French Renault, the rate of which reached 1260 units in the previous month, which is higher by 20% than in March of 2019. The second place of the ranking is occupied by Japanese Toyota, sales of which fell by 21% to 660 units. Korean brand KIA is the third one with 570 cars, which is lower by 18% than a year ago. Nissan (350 units; -37%) and Hyundai (320 units; -24%) finished the top-5 of the most popular brands in Ukraine by the results of March.

Experts noted that in the top-10 of leaders of the Ukrainian market, Audi showed the largest increase (+ 35%) in March, and Skoda (-42%) showed the strongest drop. The most popular model of the Ukrainian car market was the Renault Duster crossover in the previous month, the sales volume of which grew by 40% to 620 units. KIA Sportage is the second one with 510 units (-4%). The third position was taken by Toyota RAV4 (310 units; -17%). Two Renault models follow - the Sandero hatchback (260 units; + 22%) and the Logan sedan (220 units; -21%). In total, from the beginning of the year, Ukrainians have purchased 20.6 thousand new cars, more by 12% than in January - March of 2019.
