Annual volume of import of automotive parts in Russia exceeded 4 bln USD

The market of spare parts for foreign cars, following the automotive market, is beginning to develop very rapidly. In the nearest future this segment of market will grow faster than the sales of foreign cars in 2005 2007, what means 60 70 % per year. According to official data of customs statistics, in 2007 there were imported nearly 8 mln units of automotive parts, their cost was 4 bln USD. Tires, oils and other engineering maintenance materials and accessories are not included. Of course, the majority of parts are imported without being declared at customs. In total, the specialists of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT estimate the annual capacity of the aftermarket of parts and engineering maintenance materials for foreign cars in 10 bln USD. This estimation is confirmed by the results of calculations, made by the analysts in the marketing report Market of automotive components and spare parts in Russia. The analysts think that the most interesting segments (for business) of market of components are: tires (1, 07 bln USD), oils and other working fluids (818 mln USD). These two segments give almost 20% of total capacity of market. Besides, sets and parts of exhaust system (8, 4%), details of suspension (5, 6%), feedback systems (4, 6%), transmissions (4%), electrical equipment (3, 6%) and electronic engine management systems (4%) constitute a significant part of the aftermarket. Each of these groups of spare parts for foreign cars (on a scale of the country) is estimated in nearly 10 bln rur. (400 mln USD).
