In some regions of the Russian Federation, dealers were allowed to sell cars

The leaders of some regions, obviously, listened to the wish of the President of the Russian Federation that the situation in their territories should be taken into account in the fight against coronavirus. They found it possible to include a car service, sale of spare parts and the sale of cars (with certain reservations) in the permitted type of activity. So, on the website of the Association of Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD), a whole list of regions was published in which such activities are allowed, although not in a full volume.

As for the sale of cars, such an opportunity (as of April 14th, 2020) was provided to dealers of 12 constituent entities of the Russian Federation (their list is currently being specified). Moreover, as it became known by the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", at this stage it is about giving of previously paid or reserved cars to customers, which they simply did not manage to get due to the closure of car dealerships.

The permits stipulate that the heads of the organizations specified in the relevant resolutions are obliged to determine the minimum number of employees necessary for the functioning of their organizations, as well as ensure the compliance with sanitary standards and rules-recommendations of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation and Rospotrebnadzor. The ROAD hopes that as the situation in the country changes, this list will become longer, and also that other proposals of the Association to support the industry will be heard.
