AVTOVAZ conducts up to 80% of crash tests virtually

Up to 80% of crash tests conducted at AvtoVAZ take place in virtual reality. The executive director of “Rostech” Oleg Yevtushenko said about it in an interview with RIA Novosti agency, noting that the test results always confirm the calculations. According to him, AvtoVAZ uses virtual modeling technology in the development of new cars.

Experts rely on computers for such aspects of the design of the car as aerodynamics and climate control, safety, acoustics, rigidity and durability of the body. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, AVTOVAZ continues to modernize production technologies and processes. In 2019, a large amount of work was carried out, the result of which was the strengthening of quality control, process optimization and cost savings, improving working conditions for workers.

Growth of production efficiency is carried out within the framework of the Renault-Nissan Alliance's methods - AVTOVAZ is a full-fledged participant in the international production complex, which not only produces cars that meet the latest standards, but also supplies auto components for the production of Alliance cars in Russia and abroad.

In addition, at the beginning of 2020, AvtoVAZ introduced a new, more modern and effective method for quality control of finished cars. Instead of the street track, which has been used since 1973 to check every released car, a new test track has been opened, located inside the main building. This minimizes the impact of weather conditions on the quality of the vehicle inspection and improves the working conditions of test drivers. Through the procedure of intermediate and final tests, as before, 100% of the cars produced at AvtoVAZ pass – they are LADA, Renault and Datsun models. The new quality control methodology meets fully the standards of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
