    Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" conducted a study of the passenger car market in Russia. It covered both new cars, and used ones, and in all federal districts of the country. According to the survey, for the year (from November of 2017 to October of 2018), 48 cars were sold per one thousand Russians, incl. 11 new cars and 37 used ones.

Toyota increased sales by 17% in Russia in February

Russian Toyota dealers sold 8,239 cars in February, which is higher by 17% than in the previous year. According to the results of two months of 2020, Toyota sales in the Russian market reached 14,644 cars (+ 18%). As a result, Toyota ranked the fifth among all automakers in Russia, with a market share of 6.7% versus 5.6%, according to AEB.

Toyota's bestseller was the RAV4 crossover in February, its sales doubled to 3,684 units. Camry business sedan is the second one in terms of sales, which found 2,425 buyers (-18%). According to Toyota Motor, the new RAV4 has kept the leadership in the D-SUV segment for three months now, by reaching a market share of 19.4% in February in its highly competitive category.

According to sales statistics, since the fifth generation of the model entered the market at the end of October’19, 80.2% of sold RAV4 of the new generation in Russia are equipped with all-wheel drive, and about a half of them with the innovative DynamicTorqueVectoring all-wheel drive.

About 60% of customers chose the RAV4 with a 2.0-liter engine and CVT; the Comfort version became the most popular car package. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in February Russian Toyota dealers began the sales of the new special Toyota Camry S-Edition series. The price of new items is from 2 million 104 thousand rubles.
