New Nissan Juke was patented in Russia

At the base of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property, patent images of the new generation of Nissan Juke, presented in the autumn of 2019, appeared. Recall, while the crossover does not have approval of the type of vehicle, which means Nissan cannot start sales of new items.

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the company is unlikely to receive approval for the new Juke, because in the context of a global decline in sales this is devoid of any economic reason, given that Juke is an extremely niche model. Recall that in the previous year, Nissan stopped the supply of the compact Juke crossover to Russia due to the end of the life cycle of the previous generation model.

At the heart of the new Nissan Juke there is the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-B platform, which has already become the base for the new Renault Captur and Clio. The overall length of the crossover was 4210 mm, width - 1800 mm, and height - 1595 mm, which is longer by 85 mm, wider by 170 mm and lower by 30 mm than its predecessor. The free space in the area of the rear passengers’ knees increased by 58 mm, and the luggage compartment grew from the previous 354 liters to 422 liters. For example, the boot of the “older” Qashqai model will intervene more only by 8 liters. Despite the increased dimensions, the crossover turned out to be 23 kg lighter than the first generation model.

As for the exterior, the new Juke received a body with sharper lines, a completely different radiator closer, as well as a different design of the top lighting. At the same time, the crossover retained well-recognizable corporate features, such as large round head headlights. The most noticeable change in the cabin is the multimedia display that has moved upstairs, which is now enclosed in a separate case. In Europe, Juke is offered with a non-alternative 117-horsepower engine, which is available with a 6-speed manual, or with a 7-band “robot” with two clutches.
