The Russian car market returned to a fall in February

Sales of cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia fell by 2.2% to 119,073 cars in February. According to the results of the first two months of 2020, the Russian car market reached 218,442 cars (-0.5%), according to the Association of European Businesses.

Recall, according to the current AEB forecast, by the results of 2020, sales of passenger and light commercial vehicles in Russia will continue to fall, by reaching 1.72 million units, which is lower by 2.1% than in the previous year.

The leadership in the Russian car market is held by AvtoVAZ, which sold 25,002 LADA cars (-7%) in the previous month. The second place in terms of sales was taken by KIA - the sale of 17,107 cars (-4%) provided the Korean brand with the leadership in the market of foreign cars. Hyundai is the third one with 14,368 sold cars, which is higher by 1% than a year before. Renault is the next - cars of this brand were chosen by 10,123 buyers (+ 19%). Toyota finished the top-5, sales of which were 8,239 cars (+ 17%). The top-10 of the best-selling brands also included Volkswagen (7,518 units, + 2%), Nissan (5,725 units, -7%), Skoda (5,200 units, -12%), GAZ (3,816 units, -1%) and Mitsubishi (3,303 units, -9%) in February.
