Updated Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be released in Russia

Mercedes-Benz introduced the updated E-Class sedan and station wagon, which will appear at Russian dealers in July of this year. Sedans, as now, will be produced at a plant in the Moscow region. Soon they will be followed by a sedan in an elongated version (China), as well as a coupe and convertible.

As a result of restyling, Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans and station wagons were changed both outside and inside. The externally updated E-Class no longer resembles the C-Class and S-Class models, as it was before: the car received new headlights, a modified radiator closer (its design depends on the version), and the sedan also got elongated taillights.

The main innovation in the cabin is a steering wheel with double side “knitting needles”, and larger dashboard screens and media systems are now offered as options. The multimedia system itself is new, like the latest models of the brand.

Two new gasoline turbo engines appeared in the range of power units: a four-cylinder with a volume of 2.0 liters (272 hp) and a six-cylinder with a volume of 3.0 liters (367 hp). Both are complemented by an electric starter-generator that helps the car to accelerate in the first seconds after the start.

Recall that in April of 2019, the Russian Mercedes-Benz plant was opened in the Esipovo industrial park near Moscow, and at the end of May the mass production of E-Class sedans began in it. In the future, the company will launch the production of GLE, GLC and GLS SUVs. Thus, the most popular Mercedes-Benz cars by sales in the Russian market will be directly produced in the country of sale.
