    The analytic agency “AUTOSTAT” within the framework of the project “AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS - 2019. Used cars: preferences of car owners” (third wave) * investigated the willingness of car owners to consider purchase of a used car at a dealership. This study was conducted by online survey in March of 2019; it was attended by more than 1,900 car owners of various car brands.



Avtotor increases the production localization


Kaliningrad Avtotor plant is expanding the cooperation with automotive component manufacturers operating in Russia and countries belonging to the Eurasian Economic Union. So, according to the results of 2019, the total volume of purchases in the EAEU domestic market reached over 2.2 billion rubles, which is higher by 30% than in the previous year (1.7 billion rubles), Avtotor press service reported.

In 2019, deliveries of new components were started from manufacturers in the Kaliningrad region and neighboring countries. These are rechargeable batteries, including the technology with absorbed electrolyte of AKOM companies from Tolyatti and Tubor from Nizhny Novgorod, tires (Cordiant company from Yaroslavl and Pirelli TR from Voronezh), and rims (“Hartung”, Chelyabinsk), a tool kit ("BAAZ", Baranovichi, Belarus), a windshield for Hyundai HD 78 model ("AGC", Nizhny Novgorod").

Thanks to the development of the localization program, enterprises have been created in the Kaliningrad Region that has already launched the production of various types of automotive components. These are wiring harnesses, bumpers, exhaust systems, as well as seats from Yengsan KLD company and multimedia systems and air conditioning systems (HVAC) from Motrex KLD Company.

The production and installation of various kinds of add-ons for the bottom of the chassis of Hyundai commercial vehicles, for example, is carried out by the “Hephaestus” company in Kaliningrad. Currently, more than 20 different types of superstructures are installed on commercial vehicles manufactured by Avtotor, including airborne platforms, vans, refrigeration units, vacuum cleaners, garbage trucks.
