UzAutoMotors starts the export of cars to Russia under the Chevrolet brand

American carmaker General Motors and its alliance partner UzAutoMotors have reached an agreement whereby UzAutoMotors begins the sales of cars in export markets in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus under the Chevrolet brand.

Under the terms of this agreement, Chevrolet Spark, Nexia and Cobalt would be the first models available in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus since March 2020, the press service of UzAutoMotors reported. In the future, the company plans to expand its lineup. Sales of cars under the Ravon brand in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus will be stopped by mid-2020.

UzAutoMotors will manage the distribution of their Chevrolet models in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The dealer network will be created on the basis of a number of current General Motors Russia dealers, part of existing Ravon dealers and authorized Chevrolet service centers, taking into account their geographical location and degree of compliance with Chevrolet brand standards.

In turn, General Motors Russia, together with its dealers Cadillac and Chevrolet NAV, will continue to focus on importing of luxury Cadillac cars and premium Chevrolet models into the Russian market.

The existing Chevrolet customers who purchased cars at GM / Chevrolet dealerships in Russia before the end of 2015 will still be able to receive services at authorized General Motors Russia centers. Also, customers who purchase Ravon cars will be able to continue to receive services at authorized UzAutoMotors service centers.

Recall that in March of 2015, General Motors announced plans to change the business model in Russia, in which the concern focused on the premium segment of the Russian market using the Cadillac brand and such American Chevrolet models as Corvette, Camaro and Tahoe.
