AvtoVAZ can start production of inexpensive Nissan sedan

At the end of 2012 AvtoVAZ can start production of the new inexpensive Nissan sedan, designed specially for the Russian market. According to Insideline, the brand-new will be based on Renault-Nissan B0 platform, which is a base for the Dacia and the Renault Logan. It is expected that the prototype for the inexpensive Japanese sedan will be the Nissan Aprio, which was assembled in Mexico from 2007 to 2010. The expected price of the car is $15,000 (about 465,000 roubles). AvtoVAZ can start its production at the end of 2012 – beginning of 2013, which is proved by AvtoVAZ president Igor Komarov. 

“At present the main conveyer line is being modernized as well as the new welding, painting, power unit workshops are being constructed. According to the plan of the car plant development, production of five AvtoVAZ and Renault-Nissan models based on B0 platform will be organized at these facilities. The first model, put in production in the first half of 2012, will be the Lada Largus – 5/7-seat estate cars (R-90) and vans (F-90) on the Dacia Logan MCV base. In the second half of 2012 Nissan car production will be started, and in 2013 two Renault models will be launched”,- AvtoVAZ press center informed AvtoSreda company. According to the earlier information, in 2012 AvtoVAZ will start production of the restyled Nissan Almera sedan with Lada brand.
